T.W.A.S. (April 8-12)

This Week At School (our first week back from Spring Break!)

NF - We had a Spring Concert on Thursday.  We played ukuleles and 3 songs.  Our class wrote the lyrics to a song, called "The Video Gamin' Blues." The recorder club played a song and other Grade 3, 4, and 5 students performed.  We are sharing the concert with the school today (Friday).

HS - For art, we used chalk pastels to create a Northern Lights picture.
KT - We watched a video that showed how the Northern Lights are formed by the electrons and solar winds.

MA - Our class met with our buddies to practice skipping and hula hooping outside.

AE - For Language Arts, we have begun to work on poetry.  So far, we have practiced Haiku, Diamante, and Acrostic Poems.  We will be creating our own Poetry Anthology with these.

OR - We have also started a new novel called Iqbal.

NC - in Science we had to write down all the things in our house that use electricity. 

This Week At School - April 15-18

We continued experimenting with different types of poetry this week; Limericks, Free Verse, and Found Poetry.  We may have had the most fun with Found Poetry - here are some examples from the students:

Today, some very kind students gave up their lunch play time to dawn a pair of gloves and pitch in to clean up garbage from the back field.  The school thanks you for your help!
